Today the field of telemedicine is changing drastically due to exponential advancement in technology. This has led to an increase in accessibility and affordability of essential tools of telemedicine. For instance, the US population has had access to live video telemedicine and online apps for video chatting such as Facetime and Skype. These have been made possible because of computer and mobile device. Telemedicine is used today to treat patients in remote areas. Hence, it is increasingly becoming a medical care tool that has convenience. Patients connected to telemedicine wants to use the shortest time other than doctor’s wait rooms for minor but urgent conditions that are needed (Rupp, 2017).

In summary my course project/ research paper discusses technological advances in healthcare’s Radiology departments, along with the implications it brings towards the Health Information Management such as complications, risks, and challenges. The problem identified with these technological advances is whether the patients health information is actually being provided in a more efficient and effective way for the patients care and experience along with the physicians and staff’s job experience and measures made to use the technological advances in the correct way. The paper thoroughly discusses technological advances in time line along with todays problems with these advances and the opposing view. Properly credited resources have been used in the making with this paper along with my passion and experience of working the in Radiology Department as a staff member and management for the last eight years.

While results of advances are shown, there is still going to be the question of whether one believes the advances are best for patient care and health information management as there will never be a fluid, perfect answer for every patients care and transfer of information when different hospitals, clinics, and departments all use different systems of EHR or paper copies. One has to decide for themselves if they think technological advances are best for the future of departments in Hospitals and Clinics but with this paper there is a bit more research, information, and opposing views to have one help decide for themselves while my conclusion states my final thoughts.
