I do not believe I am fully aware of drug interactions. I have not been in need of many drugs throughout my life because I am in relatively good shape. I have never been exposed to drugs because my parents are hard-working, sober good figures. In fact, I had my first recreational drug interaction at work. During an after-work Christmas party, I had a little to drink. I’ve only smoked once. Many people find that fact hard to believe, but I am not reliant on drugs to function.
I do not believe that the general American public is adequately informed on drug interactions. Literally, while brushing my teeth this morning, I was tuned into a news outlet snap series on Snapchat, and one of the stories covered was on a high school student fentanyl drug overdose. Three high school students were exposed to the drug, all-consuming the drug. All three were hospitalized, one of them died.
I believe that a drugs and alcohol class should be offered at the high school level. I remember taking psychology class with Mrs. Johnston; I do believe drugs were briefly mentioned but never highly discussed. I also remember that there was an age requirement to get into the class. You’d need to be at least a Sophomore to take the course. I believe that it should be offered to any and all students.
